There was a time when I had to scour the ‘net all week to come up with just one good political ‘toon post a week. Nowadays, I don’t even have to go in search of … they drop into my lap in droves! I pick out only the best ones, and still have enough for two cartoon posts a week, as a rule. Right now, my file is bulging, so guess what that means? RIGHT! Bring on da ‘toons!!!

Jill, good toons. The sad part is the toons about the Republican blowing up their own border deal and not doing the people’s work is not as funny anymore. It is a sorry state of affairs. Keith

Yes … at first glance, you see the humour and say, “spot on!” And then you think for a moment and realize that it is sadly spot on and that this is reality … our reality.

Cartoons often hit harder than the professional political commentators. These are great.

You’re so right, my friend! Just a simple drawing and a few words can convey the message every bit as well as a thousand-word essay sometimes.

Right! Let’s just close all the schools so they won’t learn anything!

Don’t even teach the children to read and write. Let them be like most of their ancestors when the landed on American shores. They made it, somehow, so can their descendents!

as usual, these political cartoonists know how to express what is going on in the world. I’m really nervus about the upcoming election. I was hoping Haley might at least be a viable candidate, but after Nevada, wow…

Indeed they do! If only I had even a shred of artistic talent, but alas … sigh. I’m trying hard not to be too nervous about the upcoming election … but yeah, I wish Trump would be declared ineligible to be on the ballot. Haley won’t likely win the GOP nomination, but … and this is important … she IS taking some votes away from Trump. She is hanging in and is getting some small amount of support. Nevada’s primary is meaningless, for the most part, since delegates will actually be chosen at the caucus … Haley isn’t on the ballot at the caucus, though, so the delegates will go to Trump. But still … the media is making entirely too much of Nikki Haley’s showing, or lack thereof, in Nevada. Let’s wait and see what happens in her home state of South Carolina …

I always like reading your perspective on things. It calms me down a bit. So maybe Nikki and Taylor Swift will be the downfall of Trump.

Could be! You just never know these days. The GOP might also eat their own and self destruct from within. That’s what happens when you trade your values and integrity for wealth and power.

Thanks for yet another spot on compilation of MAGA disingenuity, Jill. Here’s hoping they just signed their own death certificate.

Well, they for sure shot themselves in the foot on this one, but I’m not sure it’s a death knell … yet. We can hope, though, and it’s only a matter of time before they shoot themselves in the other foot!

Political toons really showing a great political culture. Unfortunately, we no longer have this to such an extent in Germany. Thanks for sharing, Jill! But these days we are having something like carneval, called “Fastnacht/ Fasching”. The best for getting drunk without beeing blamed for it. Lol xx Michael

I’m always surprised to find that political cartoons aren’t as prevalent in the EU as they are here … I think they are amazing in that they can say as much with a simple drawing as political writers can say with a thousand words! Now while I certainly hope you have fun at Fasching, be sure to keep safe, my friend. And remember that it’s not the weekend yet, so you can’t sleep it off for a whole day! xx
