Jolly 💘Monday!!!

Good Monday morn, dear friends!  In case you weren’t aware, Valentine’s Day is the day after tomorrow (Wednesday).  Ho-hum … in my book it’s rather one of those unnecessary holidays that has little or no meaning, but since the retailers of flowers, chocolates and other things make a bundle by exploiting poor men, it’s a media sensation.  More than a few times I’ve seen men at the grocery the night before hastily picking up some flowers and chocolates for their beloved wifey.  Okay, I’ll stop with the sarcasm … it is “jolly” Monday, not “snarky” Monday!!!

Joyful tells me she has whipped up a few treats in keeping with the Valentine Day theme, so let’s go see what yummy things await us and then we’ll get this week started right with some jolly good fun!

An’ I even gots a Valentine treat for da bacon-lovers

Gonna need a dentist after all this sweet stuff, but thank you, Joyful!!!  Now, let’s start the morning with some phunny puns, okay?

And we’ve been collecting a few animal memes …

Okay, now it’s TOON TIME!!!

A few fun facts to chew on …

Um … I’m not sure I want to try this one … if it doesn’t work, you don’t get any “do-overs”!!!

And what would Jolly Monday be without a cute animal video???  This one was sent to me yesterday by our dear friend, Scottie … thank you, Scottie, for so many laughs!!!

Well, friends, it’s that time again … hear the hall clock chiming?  I hope you all have a safe, warm, and wonderful week ahead … and guys — better be calling the florist today if you want to bring a smile to the face of your beloved on Wednesday!  🤣  Love ‘n hugs from Filosofa, Jolly & Joyful!!!

  1. All I need to do trigger my black and white feline floof is slide a stick along in front of him. Eyes narrow, whiskers tighten up, ears come forward, and — snap, out comes a paw, claws spread, to ensnare that stick and take it from me.

BTW, love how Charlie Brown says to his DOG, “You’re the only person…?”

    Hugs ‘n cheers

    • That sounds like a feline floof! ‘Tis why ours have at least 10 of those sticks with feathers at the end … those and catnip tea bags are their faves.

Yep, my friend, dogs is people too. Not so sure about cats, though 😼

      Hugs ‘n cheers

  2. Great collection! Also, if anyone’s still up, Happy Darwin Day! (I have a beloved family member born on 2/12, who’s pretty proud to share that birthday; I never forget either one.)

  3. What I wanted to ask: is it only the man who is expected to give something to the woman? I thought it was mutual? Maybe I misunderstood something.

In our marriage it is my husband who remembers days like that like wedding anniversary etc.
Valentines is, like Halloween, not really that much celebrated here in the sticks, more in the big cities.

    • It just depends on the couple. I know some women who go all out on Valentine’s Day for their partner and expect the same in return, others expect to be wooed without wooing in return, and still others largely ignore the whole thing. Just depends. Way back in the day when I was married, I was lucky if he remembered Christmas, let alone something like Valentines Day!

      • One day you and I need to discuss the meaning of getting lucky.🤣
Hol i day is so misleading. Make it a week! Last wednesday Ace & I strolled through the graveyard and came home with a nice bouquet. Yesterday we we at the Rural King and during conversation in the mop aisle he reminded me of an event that occured 15 years before his arrival to the family that is still discussed, so we got her some chocolate covered peanuts and a pink flamingo. This year I shall cover the dining room table with hershey’s writing something pithy in intaglio.💡Lucky is as lucky does!😉

  5. That was über-joyful! Thank you so much – and since I‘m still under the effects of a recent double-op of ONE eye, there was much for me to enjoy with regards to ‚viewing‘…. I‘m not a Valentine‘s Day fan but I DO enjoy sending out little messages here and there. And I ask HH NOT to buy me flowers at V-Day. Not that he buys me flowers anyway since the day at the very beginning of our relationship when I told him how very difficult it is to get flowers for me (allergies, dislikes etc). That was also the last time he listened to what I said! 🙂 🙂 🙂
btw, we DO love each other…. Today he decided to WFH so that he could drive me to an urgent eye control date which had to be advanced due to problems. THAT is love!

    • I am so happy to know you found it über-joyful! How’s the eye doing now … recovering nicely, I hope? I largely ignore Valentine’s Day, though when I was younger I enjoyed it. Nowadays, it’s just another holiday to make fun of! Awwww … I think I like HH already!
