I am feeling lazy today … I overslept this morning and it’s one of those days when my brain cells seem to have turned to fuzz, so I just have one little snippet today and then I’ll turn you over to Jimmy Kimmel for some chuckles & laughs as he pokes fun at you-know-who!
I LOVE the conclusion of the judge’s ruling in the case brought by Rod Blagojevich. You may remember Blagojevich was sentenced to federal prison where he served 8 years of a 14-year sentence before having his sentence commuted by Donald Trump in 2020. Blagojevich was the governor of Illinois when he was convicted for trying to sell the Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama when Obama ran for president in 2008. Well, he recently filed a civil suit against the State of Illinois in hopes of resuming his political career. He failed miserably and here’s how the judge concluded his ruling …
And now for some Jimmy Kimmel …
Now I must go try to work on gathering ‘toons ‘n such for Jolly Monday tomorrow! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

A fuzzy brain seems to be quite the thing these days. ❤

It definitely does!!! I try to hone mine, and some days that works, but other days it just seems to be clogged with fuzz!

The one thing about Trump is comedians can always count on him for great material.

Jill, there is a name from the past, Rod Blagojevich. The first George Santos. Selling a Senate seat. And, Trump pardoned him? It truly takes a fraud to know a fraud.
As for the fraud himself, Kimmel does a pretty good job of roasting him. Some Trump fans are telling me his fraud case is overstated and is something other business leaders have done.
Yes, if the you were CEO or CFO of Enron, Adelphia, Tyco, et al. And, the question for Trump fans is which fraud case? The one he stole money from his Foundation or the one his company committed tax fraud or the one he falsified records?

Yes, a name from the past, but one that I remembered the minute I saw it, for I wrote about him a couple of times back in the day. Yep, Trump pardoned him, so I guess he thinks all is forgiven, but the judge told him a thin’ or two!
I did love Kimmel’s roast of Trump. He and Colbert manage to get their digs in! So … just because others have acted fraudulently, we’re supposed to accept it as the “new norm”??? Wow … by that standard, I guess school shootings should just be acceptable now, since others have done them. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr … there is really some mass stupidity in this world, isn’t there?

Jill, since Santos is running again and the minister who was convicted of election fraud is running again, Blogojevich would fit right in.
As for the adjudicated fraud, I like to focus on the smaller Trump Foundation case. Trump, who is known for using other people’s money, took $1.6 million from donations to his Foundation.
He settled the case having to repay the Foundation, then the Foundation was terminated, and no one named Trump was allowed to oversee the distribution of monies to charities in keeping with the by-laws. Plus, everyone named Trump had to undergo philanthropic training.
But, his followers tell me he does nothing wrong.

Good point, Keith! And while I’d like to say that none of those three would stand a chance at winning … these days, I’m just not so sure.
Yes, we tend to forget about that case, as so many others have taken the spotlight, but you’re right … it is telling that he would even steal money meant for charity! I cannot understand how anybody can still support this sorry excuse for a ‘man’. Sigh. It says too much about our society today, doesn’t it?

Sadly, too many people actually DO like getting entertainment instead of news. The louder, more obnoxious, more crass, the happier they are. Sigh.

I missed the Blagojevich comeback effort–though I’m not sure how big a loss this was in the scheme of things! I’d like to see that judge smack down Aileen Cannon, who’s made a Seussical of our nation’s secrets.
Those Trumpies are scary-sad.

I enjoyed reading the judge’s conclusion … I well remember the Blagojevich fiasco and writing about it a couple of times … he is an arrogant bastard who deserved what he got! I fully agree with you about Aileen Cannon! She is not qualified to be a judge at all, let alone to preside over such a serious lawsuit! Yes, the Trumpies blow my mind … they need to go back to school!!!

Oh MY GOSH! Can the Turnip get any dumber? Or fatter? Or uglier? I love Jimmy Kimmel. He manages to bring out the stupidest traits in the Turnip, who is now a bushel of turnips short of a full load! If he continues to lose them there won’t be a load to think about, he will have exploded!
I hope you are feeling better. I’m having a lazy day as well, but MS is acting up something crazy lately. Doc appointment Wednesday and taking a nurse with me who promises that if the doc doesn’t listen to me this time he will have to deal with her! That will be fun to watch!

I know, my friend! Every time I have to look at him it makes me want to 🤮. I, too, love Jimmy Kimmel and he certainly made mincemeat of Trump in this video!
I’m still a bit “off my feed” … just the whole situation both here and ’round the globe, I think. It disrupts my sleep and my psyche, and some days I just cannot seem to get on track. But, otherwise I’m hanging in. I do hope your appointment will go well … I’m really glad the nurse is going with you … she sounds like she’s just what’s needed!!! Keep me posted! 💖

I wish I could be off my feed for a while. Might lose some of the weight I’ve gained since the beginning of COVID. Needed to gain a few pounds, but now have about 30 to lose. Never ending cycle.

Sigh … yes, such is life … everything is cyclic! I have little enough appetite these days, so that helps keep the weight down. Except for sweets, which doesn’t help!
