I am growling tonight, and since growling is always more fun if others are growling along with you, I thought I’d give you a reason to growl, too!

The first growl-worthy news …

We the People are paying a lot … and I do mean a LOT … of money for people to represent us, and those people are NOT representing us.  At all.

With only 14 days left until the next looming government shutdown on March 1^st, the United States House of Representatives left town at 2:30 yesterday afternoon for a 13-day recess.  They will return on February 28^th, just two days before the government is set to partially shut down, and ten days before the rest of the federal government will shut down.  Not one single appropriations bill to fund the government past March 1^st has been passed, nor even discussed as far as I can tell.

Would somebody please tell me just what they need a recess from???  They haven’t done one damn bit of work since they returned from their Christmas break!!!  Instead of working on legislation like the appropriations bills, as they are paid to do, they’ve been playing partisan games like sham impeachments and foolhardy ‘investigations’ into nothing!  I say we expel every damn Republican from the House … send them all packing as we did George Santos … so long, farewell, don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!  Good riddance to bad rubbish!  If they had any bit of a conscience, they would resign and turn the reins over to someone who does want to do the best job for the people of this nation, for these oafs surely have no desire to do their job!

We effectively have no legislative branch of government today.  The Senate burned the midnight oil to pass a bi-partisan bill on border security … the very issue the Republicans have been boo-hooing about forever now, and then the Republicans shot it down.  They burned more midnight oil to pass an aid bill to provide aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, but House Speaker Mike Johnson won’t even bring it to the floor.  Instead, they’re going home to play golf and whatever else it is they do in their spare time.  It sure as hell isn’t reading or thinking!

Remember, my friends … every single member of the House of Representatives is up for re-election in November.  VOTE THE LOT OF THE REPUBLICANS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

And in other growl-worthy news …

I read last night in an article about the mass shooting in St. Louis, Missouri, on Wednesday.  This is unrelated to that specific shooting but relevant to the state of Missouri.  One year ago, Democrats in the Missouri legislature introduced a bill that would prohibit children from carrying weapons on public property without adult supervision. The bill was voted down by Republicans in the legislature. Democratic Representative Donna Baringer said police in her district had asked for the change in order to stop “14-year-olds walking down the middle of the street in the city of St. Louis carrying AR-15s.”  The shame of this nation!  Apparently the Republicans in the Missouri legislature have been bought and paid for by the gun industry, just like the ones in the U.S. Congress.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr …
