Hi Fwiends! It’s us, Jolly ‘n Joyful! Gwammie is missing in action today … we think she fell into da wabbit hole, but we is gonna twy our bestest to make you smile dis Monday morning! Joyful was so busy helping me find ‘toons ‘n fun stuff dat she didn’t have time to cook, so we just got some coffee ‘n donuts for dis morning … we hope dat’s okay!

Good Monday morning, my friends! I bet you guys just can’t wait to dive into another week at the salt mines … or wherever you work! My poor daughter is the head of her department at work and 7 of her staff have called off this weekend – all tested positive for Covid! I told her I’d fire every one of them, for no doubt they’ve been going around without masks, not taking any precautions. She said it’s probably a good thing I’m no longer a manager … she’s probably right, for the older I get, the less tolerance I have for stupidity. But anyway, since it’s Monday, let’s start the week with something to make us smile, or maybe even chuckle, shall we? Let’s start by checking out what Joyful has been up to in the kitchen … something sure smells good!

Jolly ‘n Joyful Return For Jolly Monday!

Good Monday morning, friends! You’ll be happy to know that Jolly and Joyful have returned, safe and sound. Turns out they went out driving, got lost, so decided to rent a motel room until daylight. I was so happy to see them back home that I didn’t even yell at them! Next Sunday is Easter … not a holiday I particularly enjoy, for it’s more work than pleasure, but I’ll dye the eggs (with the girls’ help) and maybe even manage to roast a chicken or something a bit more special than my usual fare for supper that night, then breathe a sigh of relief when it’s over, for I’m just not feeling up to all the work this year. Anyway, let’s go see what delicacies Joyful has for our snacks this morning, then on to some fun stuff to start the week out on the right foot!

Jolly ‘n Joyful Monday!!!

Good Monday morning, friends! It’s a gloomy, stormy one here. Yesterday the temps reached 70° (21° C) but by next weekend the high temps will only be around freezing. I keep saying that spring is on it’s way, but it seems to be playing games with us. Ah well … soon enough I’ll be complaining about the heat – never satisfied, are we? Well, since Joyful has declared today to be “Sandwich Day”, let’s go grab a sandwich and something to drink, and find some things to start the week off with a smile, shall we?

And a bacon-topped donut for the bacon lovers to share!

The title of a recent newsletter from Atlas Obscura read, “How to Save Collard Greens from Disappearing”. Say WHAT??? Why on earth would anybody want to save collard greens from disappearing??? Let ‘em go, I say! Never has there been a more disgusting excuse for a vegetable! The article began …

Jolly Funday Monday!

Well, folks, it’s back again … Monday. It seems like we just had Friday a couple of days ago … where do the weekends go??? Did you all do something fun and exciting over the weekend? Me? Oh, well, I … er … watched the grass grow. No, actually in addition to writing this blog, answering comments, etc., I worked on taxes! Now that’s a real treat, isn’t it? I do hope your weekend was more exciting than that! But now it’s a new week, and just 11 more days ’til Spring!!! So, let’s kick off the week with some humour, shall we? Grab a snack … I don’t know what Joyful has cooked up, but she’s been in the kitchen for hours … and then we’ll find something to start the week with a smile.

It’s probably my mood, but all the funny news stories I came across seemed … unfunny to me. Either they were a bit on the macabre side or just plain not funny. So, instead of any humorous news this Jolly Monday, we have extra ‘toons, memes, funny signs, cute animal pics, and of course a cute critter video! So, let’s start with the ‘toons …

I found this interesting. When I look at it, I see a grey shoe with aqua laces. I showed it to the girls last night, and while granddaughter Natasha also saw what I did, Chris saw a pink shoe with white laces! I don’t understand it, but it is further proof that not all of us see colours the same, as our friend rawgod pointed out last week! What colours do you see?
